What's New and Hot

April 9, 2000

Well, not much to report this year... I've been roaming the desert flatlands and foothills of Ada County, locating old township-range-and-section corners for my job. The thrill of finding a 120 year old corner is only equaled by the agony of not finding one.

We've encountered occasional mud, but the long drought between mid-March and mid-April definitely dried things out. But it's raining today...

If I had to hike the desert, I would aim for the easier-access places like Birds of Prey, Teapot Dome, the Wapi Flow or Hells Half Acre, Little Gooding City of Rocks, or the Boccard Kipukas. Maybe, if you must go higher, try Marys Creek or the South Hills.

Good luck--and send me email!

And come back to this page whenever you visit. I'll try to keep track of all revisions...
