A very small limber pine in the Craters of the Moon lava field. Life is harsh here, and this tree might be very old already.	Birches at the base of the cliff in the Jokulsa Canyon are about as big as they grow in Iceland. Here they are protected by the cliff, and at a very low elevation as the river approaches the ocean.
